Situated on the Ovens River on the Great Alpine Road, the Property offers an All Seasons destination and the ideal setting for any type of camp. With direct access to the Alpine National Park and world renowned walking trails, Mountain View Retreat is the ideal base to explore the Ovens Valley Region or the Alpine High Country.
Mountain View Retreat Offers clean, bright, fully carpeted, heated and comfortable accommodation for up to 110 students in 20 en-suited bedrooms. Our on-site facilities include small conference, retreat and workshop activity areas or larger areas for a range of indoor/outdoor activities.
We provide and tailor outdoor educational packages for many school groups providing activities including day trips to Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham and Beechworth, mountain bike riding, canoeing, raft and bridge making, winter skiing, abseiling, campfire cooking, on and off site orienteering, bushwalking, goldmining talks with adventure exploring, gold panning, astronomy, outdoor cinema nights and dance, drama and yoga workshops.
Teacher /Staff accompanying students: One free staff member or parent with each 8 paying students (accommodation and meals)
What to bring for accommodation
- Mountain View Retreat supplies mattress and protector plus pillow and pillow case
- Students and staff must supply all other requirements e.g. sleeping bag, rug and bathroom towels
- Collect food from servery and return dishes to servery area
- remove all rubbish from accommodation areas
- Mountain View Retreat staff prepare and serve all meals, do all washing up and clean en-suite bathrooms daily
